About Me

This blog is about my take on my daily life!  Why?  WHY is my big question?  I ask this several times a day.  I feel like I’m an annoying forever-four-year-old kid, who keeps asking her mom, “but why, mom?”, “but w-h-y, mom?,” “b-u-t  w-h-y, m-o-m?  Oh, that’s annoying! Right?

A few things about me…the core me:

1.  People say that I seem sooooo calm.  They don’t really know me.  I’m  like  a duck – Staying calm on the surface but paddling like hell underneath.

2.  I’m not crafty but creative.  I use to think I was a crafty lady -:)  When I see someones craft, I want to do it!  But could never settle on one craft idea.  I have bought wood burning tools, fabric cutting tools, knitting yarns, paints and brushes, fabric for sewing.  I can do a little of all those things.  It’s great to be a Jill of all trades.  I have helped my daughter through her elementary and middle school years with countless projects.  All got great grades, by the way!!!

3. My strength and my weakness:  I’m an optimist!!  I’m a dreamer.  And, I wish for world peace!  I hope that day will arrive.  I love John Lennon’s song, Imagine.  And Natasha Bedingfield’s song, Unwritten.

4. I enjoy writing, photography and cooking.  I push salad a lot – my poor husband.  That takes no cooking time, so it’s one of my favorite dishes to cook.  Ha ha!  I am passionate about working out and eating right.  Eating right can get tricky sometimes.  But I work on it every meal, every single day.  Working out is a priority when it comes to keeping myself sane.  Simple as that!

5. I love watching science fiction movies!  Love watching outer space stuff!  Loved the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey.  Watched the episodes of The Universe, more than once.  A fan of Star Trek shows.  Twilight Zone.  Use to watch Lost in Space.  Don’t meet that many people who know about Lost in Space -:(.  I wonder why? -:)  I must be the one lost in space! LOL!

6. If I was not married to my husband; I would be married to someone else #1 and divorced, married to someone else #2 and divorced, married to someone else #3 and divorced.  Yes, that many times!  I tell this to my husband and he smiles.

7.  I believe in a Supreme Power.  That Power is guiding me through my life journey on this beautiful planet.  I believe that there are many paths to spirituality.  These paths are intertwining at various times and points to give me several chances to enrich my life.  At these junctions, I also meet people who nourish my soul.  I believe that working on my spirituality means to do my best each day, whatever it may be.  There are days where I want to take a break from everything!  And, that’s the best for that day.

8.  My family includes humans and animals.  A husband, two teen kids (daughter and son), a beagle and a pitbull.  My daughter is into animals and is a vegan.  My son loves being in his school band and plays Alto Saxophone.  I adore them all!!  I also adore me time by myself!! -:)

9.  I love doing laundry.  I love the smell of fresh laundry.  During my walks with the dogs, a lot of times, I smell that fresh smell and I know it’s from someone doing laundry.  It brightens my day -:)

10.  I’ll keep blogging.  I want to see what becomes of it.  And, what becomes of me.  I have been wanting to put “my stuff” in one place.  This is like home – good, bad and the ugly!  Love, love, love being here…the comfort I feel is indescribable!

Thanks for reading about me.  Now that you know me…we can be buds!! -:)

Hi, there, fellow Lost in Space…er, person. Why do Trekkies and Whovians get names, but not people who watched Lost in Space? Huh? Well, I was never a hard core…Loser… no, that’s not right. But, I did watch the whole run of the show, and I hated Dr. Smith. Shy didn’t they just maroon him? I’m also a Trekkie, and I love sci-fi in general.

I, too, live with four-legged family members, every one of which was a rescue beastie. I love your site.

      Tracey,
Glad to have finally found someone who has watched Lost in Space. That seems so far away now:). I still watch Star Trek shows. Repeat, repeat & repeat! So good to meet you. Will follow you for sure👍🏼

I see we have lots in common. Love of pets and chocolate almonds! And yes, I remember Lost in Space when it was first run (not reruns)! I remember the robot waving his arms and saying “It does not compute.” 😉 Great blog!

As soon as I read point 1, I was your fan! My friends tell me the exact same thing. Apparently, I am super calm (but only a very few people know how crazy I can be). One of my friends actually told me I “walk calm”. I did not even know that was a thing! 😀
Anyways! I loved your blog ❤ I am looking forward to reading more of your posts!

I’m always happy to find another blog that isn’t about anything (for lack of better word) “special” and is just about an ordinary person and their thoughts and life. I really enjoyed your about me page and considering it’s just an about me page I can’t wait to go and read some more of your posts. If you would like to look at my blog which isn’t about anything special except my ordinary life and thoughts it is https://cee91blog.wordpress.com

He is adorable! He’s a lucky puppy. We found him on the side of a busy highway when he was really little. Maybe we are lucky for finding him though haha he makes life interesting. I can’t wait to post more and hear everyone’s questions and tell everyone about my experience in the Peace Corps. Thanks for the follow 🙂

Thank you! One of the best “About me” pages I’ve ever read. I feel as though I know a little about you. I too love and find inspiration in John Lennon’s “Imagine.” I am going to look up Natasha Bedingfield’s Unwritten right now. Thank you for introducing a new-to-me artist.

Hi and nice to meet you. We seem to have a bit in common not the least is our similar family dynamics. I also have two teens, a son and daughter, a dog, horse and other assorted small animals! Love to eat and cook and I’m a bit like a duck too … calm on the surface but paddling like crazy underneath. Cheers from Australia 🙂

Well hi there Miriam …. I have a smile on my face reading your comment … my daughter would love to have a farm with all farm animals. Horses, cows, pigs, more dogs … you get the idea. 🙂 Hugs.

Oh yeah, so would mine! We don’t actually live on a farm, though we have a very large yard. We agist a nearby property for our horse but the rest of the menagerie lives here … it’s a good life. Hugs to you too. 🙂

I love doing laundry as well. People think I am crazy. Even when we were living on our sailboat for eight years and I did laundry by hand in a bucket and hung everything to dry in the sun outside, I enjoyed it. Except when it started to rain and I had to rush on deck and take everything down, one by one, without losing stuff overboard. 🙂 Love the smell of it and getting under freshly washed sheets at night. Same thing about healthy food, we are both into it, but we mainly started eating more carefully after my husband had cancer. It’s all about vegetables and cutting out sugar and crap! Thanks for following my blog, by the way!
