Weight(less)

My friend and I were nearing the end of our moderate rated (on scale of difficulty), 4-mile trail, on a nice cool day.   These rock steps were the last hike.  Climbing against gravity to conclude our trail was a heavily weighted challenge.  Here, my friend is reaching the end.  Keep going friend, few more to go … you can do it!  (She did do it.)

Eye Spy: photo challenge

“Eye spy humans scurrying about caring for animals inside. I spy the space I use to occupy here.” Dixie’s intent gaze reveals memories of her shelter life.

The sun was setting at Niagara Falls and we, three siblings, were standing there…in these three long shadows! I had to shoot a picture of this.

I was amazed by the Museum of Glass in Tacoma, WA. Mesmerizing glass art work is everywhere here!

Careful: Carefully and gently!

She, with her Dad’s help, carefully takes the petunias out of its little container making sure the entire plant stays intact, the flowers and the roots, before gently lowering the roots into a bigger pot.  (This picture is from 2015 spring season).

(Extra)ordinary in ordinary sight

An oil spill, on the roadside from an ordinary vehicle, spreading in a bit of standing water, collected from last night's rain. This morning the oil spill is shining strongly due to intense sun rays falling on it
On my walk this morning, I saw an oil spill, likely from an ordinary vehicle. I got interested because it looked so beautiful. It had artistically spread in the standing water, collected from last night’s rain. And this morning, the same oil spill shimmered, emitting rainbow-like colors, under clear skies and pure sun rays. I thought how (extra)ordinary is this!

Change – As I Saw

imageIn response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Change.”

For several minutes, the airplane I was on, flew over some amazing mountain peaks.  I was mesmerized!  The pilot had announced that we would be landing soon.  I never stopped looking out the window…I felt like I had entered into another planet!  As I was daydreaming, an unexpected scene jumped at me – A sudden change: from a massive collection of brownish mountains, with high and low peaks, to a massive collection of tiny and long metallic geometric structures!  San Francisco!  I was over the city I was about to visit!

Grid

San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge

Suddenly, I felt I was engulfed in a grid factor!  For several minutes I was taken in by it.  I was speeding along side other cars through this massive structure which made me feel as if I was in a different world altogether.  For those few minutes, I was totally mesmerized!

I was driving on deck 2 or lower level of the San Francisco Oakland Bay Bridge.  I couldn’t see the sky from this level, and could only see the heavy metal grid overpowering the scene.  Driving on this bridge was an unforgettable experience.  Loved it!

Monochromatic – A photo challenge

imageIn response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge: “Monochromatic.”

I walk with one of my two dogs, Thomas, my beagle, everyday.  I am amazed by what I see  during these walks.  I see so much beauty, it intoxicates me.  I’m addicted.  I try to capture what I see.  I walk the same path, but the path does not offer me the same.  Each day is a “glass full” experience for me.

…thank you for visiting my blog…love my blogger friends for supporting my stuff:)…see you soon!
